Credit unions offer a range of loans for a variety of purposes, with lending based on an applicant’s individual circumstances and ability to repay. Cardiff & Vale Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in Wales. Applicants do not need to already be a member, as they can join the credit union and apply for a loan at the same time through the online application process. Existing members can also log in to their online account and apply. Applications are assessed by the credit union’s Loans Team, who will consider income, expenditure and affordability before making a decision. Supporting documents can be submitted online, meaning applicants do not need to visit a branch, although they also have branches in Cardiff and Barry. Once a loan is in place, members can manage their account online and keep track of their loan and repayments.
