2.3 out of 5 stars
was having trouble obtaining a balance transfer card even with a very high credit score, applied with Halifax who are my current account supplier. filled application form and was very quickly approved and money transferred next day. no fees no interest for 29 months.
Simple transfer, great rate, paid off in no time
They don’t really tell you when they reduce your credit, need to improve communication with the customers. I closed the account in November 2017 still got a bill for interest in January
Superb products that are easy to use and understand. The app is easy to use and you can do most things on it. It is great that you don't need to visit a branch. My balance transfer credit card was really easy to apply for and I was offered a much bigger credit limit than with my previous bank.
I would rather not rely on credit but its good to have a card in case of emergencies.
When ever I need support Halifax if always there for me to support me, to advise me, to assist me during the recent hard times I am experiencing!
A great card with great customer service I'm very happy .
Good long term deals even for existing customers
Easy to manage, longest 0% period around at the time on transfers
Well managed, and kept up to date with being intrusive.

The Halifax Balance Transfer & Purchase credit card has a reasonable representative APR of 18.9% and offers 0% on balance transfers up to 29 months. What’s more, if you complete the balance transfer within the first 90 days of opening the account then you’ll only have to pay a balance fee of 2.5%, after this it will go up to 3% which is fairly standard for the market. With the Balance Transfer & Purchase credit card from Halifax you’ll also receive 0% on purchases within the first 3 months as well.
Customers of the Halifax Balance Transfer & Purchase credit card can benefit from fraud protection online and can also manage the balance of the credit card using both online and mobile banking. This means that it’s easier to keep up to date with payments and can help you avoid the £12 charges if you have a late payment or go over your credit limit.
Although there aren’t any online reviews specifically for the Halifax Balance Transfer & Purchase credit card, the overall TrustPilot reviews for Halifax paint quite a negative picture. They’ve only been granted a rating of ‘bad’ and customers seem to be dissatisfied with their poor communication, high charges and declined applications – however, with this last one, we don’t know the personal circumstances of the applicant and so they may have been declined for another reason other than their credit score.
Overall verdict: The Halifax Balance Transfer Purchase card has a competitive representative APR and a 0% introductory period of 29 months is an attractive offering for those looking to transfer any existing balance. As with all credit cards be sure you’re disciplined with your repayments as once the introductory period is over you’ll be charged.
