Best bad credit loans about

11:50 03-06-2013

via Choose Wisely

If you've got yourself into a pickle on your credit file provident are the only ones who you can turn to. They helped me in a bad spot and after using them for a while the rates got better and weeks could be extended. Its nice to know if you're loyal they begin to trust you unlike other companies, i will use them time and time again until my credit is back to normal. Once more provident kinda forced me into being responsible with my payments as before banks would only send letters which can be ignored at least provident turn up at your door and to save any embarrassment i make sure i have my payments ready. My agent is Sue very nice polite lady.

Absolutely disgusting service. My agent is a nightmare. Only comes when she feels like it and then puts it down as I was not in! Doesn't bother getting out of her car, just beeps her horn! Book never up to date. Actually haven't seen my book in months, as she said she gave it back (which she hasn't)! Could be pocketing it herself for all I know! Even had to drive 30 minutes to her home address to pay her as I had fell so far behind. USELESS service, USELESS agent, PUSHY HARD SALES! Would never ever get a loan with this company again, customer service is a must and these people are rude! Never felt so victimised in my life! AWFUL!!!!!!!

***fraud do not use PROVIDENT***

MY LAST PROVIDENT AGENT RAN OFF WITH AROUND £600 OF MY PAYMENTS AND WAS NOT MARKED OFF MY PAYMENT BOOK, AS I WORKED AWAY I COULD NOT VIEW MY BALANCE BOOK UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE, SHE LEFT PROVIDENT UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, AND THEN I HAD DEBT LETTERS OFF THEM ASKING FOR £1200, NOT ONLY DID SHE RIP ME OFF SHE RIPPED OFF PROVIDENT. I ONLY USED PROVIDENT TO GAIN BETTER CREDIT SCORE AS MY LAST PARTNER MADE IT WORSE, ITS NOT THAT I NEEDED THE LOAN AS I WAS EARNING £45,000 A YR , JUST TOOK IT OUT TO BETTER MY SCORE...THEN I GET RIPPED OFF BY THESE PEOPLE.

Easy money, pressured repayment

I took out a Provident loan in 2015 & it was organised through someone else. The first contact I had with the agent was when she came to give me the money & sign the agreement. I was given £700 & my repayment was £1200 over twelve months. I paid on time for 5/6 months then I became ill & unable to work. I was struggling to even pay my rent & although I had informed my agent about my situation, I began to get texts & letters saying that my loan was going to head office. This was worrying & stressful for me & I then received a letter to say that Provident had sold my outstanding balance to a different company. My experience has been very rushed & pressurised. I felt like I personally let the agent down & annoyed them. Although it was easy to get the loan, I would not recommend Provident because of the high interest & general feel of the company.

I recently took out a loan from provident. As I have been a victim of fraud, I have a bad credit rating and never have been offered a loan, I wouldn't even be accepted for a phone contract. My agent came and said no problem, She is great Gail is, Plus she give me another loan at Christmas, Maybe You pay high Apr, But its better than going to loan sharks who will kick your door in and assault you for non payment. Some people on here moaning about getting offered a loan, cant please some people. I'm more than happy would reccomend

I have been paying off the same loans for years as everytime I paid a bit off they would offer me a bigger loan to pay the one off I had and have some cash left. Probably a way to keep me with them and being easily caught like that I always accepted. Just don't borrow from them

I needed a short term loan as my car blew up at a very difficult time, I don't have a wonderful credit rating, and knew I was in an unfortunate position. I contacted Provident and was approved straight away! A day later a very nice, helpful agent came to my house, confirmed my identity, confirmed I could meet my repayments, and was provided with my loan! 2 days later I have my new car! Very efficient and understanding at a difficult time! I would definitely recommend Provident to anyone! Excellent service!

Provident are a doorstep lender that have been operating for over 135 years and have a number of other loan brands within their umbrella company. They make it very clear on their website that their business is all about people and pride themselves on their face-to-face business style. Their offering is similar to other doorstep lenders in the market - the online application followed by the home visit and then smaller weekly repayments made in cash to the agent, however they are towards the more expensive end of the table in terms of their representative APR.

One thing that Provident do for their customers is to offer them the option to pay by card over the phone if they are unable to meet their agent on their repayment date. This prevents customers from falling into arrears, but is not a long term solution and if you are unable to make your face-to-face payments then you will need to speak to Provident about the change in your circumstances. If you do have enough funds to cover the outstanding balance of the loan then Provident allow early settlement, you will need to speak to your agent to get the process going.

Provident have achieved a 4.8 out of 5 on feefo.com and that is from almost 2500 reviews. The online reviews are really positive, especially about the friendly service, easy application and the low repayments. Provident have replied to the majority of their customers to thank them for their reviews, or if there is an issue, to resolve it.

Overall verdict: Provident have been around for a long time and their experience shows. Their offering isn’t dissimilar to other doorstep lenders, but their reputation makes them one of the bigger names in the market and their online reviews are glowing. One thing to bear in mind though is whether you can afford repayments weekly, otherwise you could end up damaging your credit history.

About Provident

Provident are a doorstep lender that can offer unsecured loans between £100 and £1000. Their loans are available over terms between 13 and 52 weeks and repayments are made weekly. Their representative APR is 535.3%, however the rate offered may be different due to the personal and financial information collected during the application process.

Following the online application, a Provident agent will visit your home to go over the details of your loan, such as your repayment days and amounts, as well as your interest rate. Once everything is finalised the agent will return to your home with the loan in cash, and will thereafter collect your weekly repayments from you on a day and time convenient to you.

During the application process you will need to give Provident information such as your National Insurance number, address details for the past three years, your telephone number and your email address. You will also need to agree to a credit check which will leave a footprint on your file. Provident accept customers with poor credit history and that have been turned down for credit in the past. They also accept applicants who have had CCJs in the past.
