Applied online. Didnt hear within the 5 working days as it states on the website so i rang up. Recieved a call the next day and then agent came out the day after that filled in details and gave me cash there and then out of his back pocket. Told him a day and time to come and off he went on holiday. His replacement came twice, both on days i hadnt agreed so i wasnt in. Other than that they are ok. Asked me if i wanted 100 150 or 200

I'd been declined by other companies, so I chose Morses Club as a last resort. I really should have gone to them first. My agent is really friendly, and the funds were provided to me within just a couple of days. Fantastic!

I don't know what you're all going on about!

I have been using Morses for a couple years now, on and off, as and when needed. I have never had a problem, felt forced or uncomfortable in any way with the company or my agent. She is reliable and always called at the same day and time each week. She was always polite and have me prior notice when she was going on holiday and I could expect another agent to call around instead. I've always found the simplicity of the system a brilliant plus, the quickness of the money and the understanding and relatable nature of the staff and the reasonable rates (in comparison to other lenders out there) all work brilliantly for me. I have never had anything but good things to say about them and recommend them to my friends too.

Ridiculous Company

I have never come across a company as bad as this!! I applied online 3 weeks, after finding them on Lenderscompared. It states on their website that an agent will contact you within 2 working days - 2 weeks later a lady rung me. She arranged for the agent to call out to me the next day - he didnt arrive. I rung them and asked what was going on, only to be told the agent had called but got no answer (even though I made it clear to them what time I would be available and agreeing a mutual time with them). The agent did however turn up the following day, filled in all the paper work and he said I would hear back by Monday the latest. As he was leaving he said 'I will see you Monday'. So silly me, assumed he would be here Monday. I rung them Monday morning just to see if the loan application had been successful. I was told they didnt know, so to ring back in the afternoon. I then rung back and was told my application had been successful, but when asked would the agent be with me on that day I was told ' I doubt it, it will either be tomorrow or Wednesday. I told her the agent told me he would be here Monday, her reply 'Well if he said Monday, he will be with you today'. We are now Tuesday, and no sign of the agent. Ive rung them 5 times but all im getting is a voicemail!! How this company is allowed to operate is beyond me, they are horrendous. In all fairness to Provident, I once applied online on a Sunday, by 1pm the following day they were with me with my loan. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Its no wonder I had never heard of them before - absolutely shocking is what they are.

Morses Club, which merged with Shopacheck in early 2015, state on their website that they help around 200,000 customers around the UK, 100 branches and 2,500 self-employed agents. Their website talks a lot about responsible lending and they appear to want to put a personal spin on the service they provide. Customers can apply online for up to £1000 if they have had a loan with Morses Club before and have proved themselves to be creditworthy. Following a home visit and final checks the agent will provide the loan in cash, and then call back each week to collect the repayments.

One thing to note with Morses Club is that even though the process seems simple and convenient, you are only able to receive a loan from them if you live in an area that is serviced by a branch and agents. You can check your eligibility on their website and if you don’t fall into one of these areas then Morses Club are unable to provide you with a loan.

Morses Club are clearly proud of their customer feedback and have a page with satisfied testimonials. These could be questioned because of bias, but looking at their TrustPilot reviews they present a similar story - they’ve been given a rating of ‘excellent’. The dedicated agents receive the majority of the praise and are described as friendly, helpful and easy to get on with. Customers are also happy with the company’s efficiency, speed and low repayment amounts.

Overall verdict: It’s hard to argue with so many positive reviews. Morses Club seem to be able to attribute their success to their friendly agents with customers appreciating their personal touch. Nevertheless, ensure that you can afford the repayments before you apply as otherwise you will be faced with someone at the door who will leave disappointed and if it continues, you’ll end up damaging your credit rating.

About Morses Club

Morses Club offer unsecured loans between £100 and £1000 (£400 for new customers), that can be repaid between a period of 20 to 52 weeks. Their representative APR is 756.5%, however the rate you are given could differ, depending on your personal circumstances. Morses Club are a doorstep lender, so after the online application is completed and you are accepted, an agent will deliver the cash directly to your home and will then return each week to collect the repayments.

During the application process an initial form is completed online and includes a credit check, after this the customer will need to pick a date and time for their dedicated Morses Club agent to come to their house, finalise the loan and do an affordability check. The agent will also need to see photographic identification and either a utility bill, payslip, birth certificate or other official letter.

Customers are given a payment card that logs each of their repayment amounts, helping them to keep track of their balance and how many repayments are left in the loan term. There is no charge for settling the loan early - you will need to speak directly to your Morses Club agent who will be able to process this for you.
