Our review of Cahoot
Cahoot are a division of Santander and this is made extremely clear through the application process. Customers that want to apply are taken through to a pre-contractual webpage on the Santander website where you then complete the application. After you have clicked ‘apply’, there is no further mention of Cahoot and you just continue the process with Santander.
You will need to have good credit to apply for a loan with Cahoot/Santander and they will thoroughly check your credit history during the application. To make sure you can afford the loan they require you to earn at least £6,000 per year.
Cahoot offer a degree of flexibility when paying back the loan which is nice. You’re able to repay the loan in part or in full at any time before your final payment. If you want to make a partial repayment then you can choose to reduce the term of your loan, or pay the loan until your original end date but with a lower monthly repayment.
Reviews online are mostly positive and it seems that having the backing of the Santander name has instilled confidence in Cahoot’s customers. There are a couple of mentions here and there of poor customer service and slow payout, but as long as you’re willing to take this sort of thing in your stride then you’re unlikely to encounter any issues.
