Signed up for a CC with Sainsbury's as I have had one with them before and thought it would be easy. Initially approved swiftly but everything after that was a comedy of mess ups in an unfunny way. The need ID and tell you what they need, but when I sent it to them it was not really what they wanted, they wanted something else instead...Twice. I gave up and when they suggested I complain I did, only to find they didn't really care and couldn't do anything. please don't waste your time.

Easy to purchase, but monstrous to use. I am charged every month with huge interest within my 28 months interest free contract although I make some card spending and make monthly repayments. The worst credit card ever. Ancient bank system. Takes days for money transfer when making payments to the card. Why not pay interest for few more days.... Pure money stealing and nothing you can do about it.. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

If you want to phone a bank to do everything. This bank is for you as that is the only way they do business. For a new bank you would expect to have a decent website to login into to manage your accounts. They don't even have a page to login. I can't email them. They can't email me. When I phone them to ask them outstanding balance they took 12 hours to phone me back with a number as they had to manually calculate my balance. It has taken over 16 days to get a refund as I overpaid them. I still have not received my refund.

I spotted some unexpected but very small charges in my credit card statement and when I contacted them about it, they responded promptly, explained the charges adequately and even removed them even though I was in the wrong.

I've had a sainsburys credit card for less than 6 months. In that time they've failed to set up a direct debit correctly, failed to register payments made, sent me overdrawn by taking a double payment and now my card doesn't work online. They tell me the problem lies with all the different retailers the problem has occurred with and it can't possibly be the only common denominator - sainsburys bank. The staff in the call centre are disinterested and their favourite phrase is 'we can't do that' - usually in response to a request to fix a problem of their making. Sainsburys - you should disassociate from whomever is providing this whitelabel service- they're simply appalling.

The credit card is fine and I have never had an issue with the customer service but once the bonus period is over the card has no real benefits and as such sits poorly in the current competitive credit card market.

Although usually a destination for reasonably priced groceries, Sainsbury’s also offer a number of different financial products. The representative APR for their No Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card is similar to their competitors at 18.9%. The main benefit of this card is that you will be charged 0% on balance transfers for the first 28 months of getting the card, and if this is completed within the first three months then you also won’t pay a fee for doing so. After the three months this goes up to 3%, which is a standard cost. There is no annual fee but if you go over your credit limit or make a late payment then you’ll receive a charge of £12 in each instance.

Being able to earn Nectar points is a benefit that’s individual to Sainsbury’s and for every £1 you spend on your No Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card you’ll receive 2 Nectar points in return. You can also earn as you spend in other stores and for every £5, you’ll earn 1 Nectar point. These points all add up and can be exchanged for treats or to spend in Sainsbury’s or with other brands such as ASOS, Sky, and Just Eat.

The Sainsbury’s No Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card has a fairly low OPTIOSCORE and despite the features and positive customer sentiment, its simplicity score has let it down. It’s quite difficult to find reviews online that are specific to this card, but we can look at those that are for Sainsbury’s Bank overall to gauge an idea of the overall customer experiences. TrustPilot have granted them a rating of ‘poor’. Some customers have experienced poor service, difficulties with online banking and disorganisation which is a shame considering they are thought of so highly when considering the food and drink side of things.

Overall verdict: Earning Nectar points and an introductory 0% on balance transfers for 28 months makes the Sainsbury No Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card an attractive offering. However, you’ll need to have good credit to be considered for this card, so if there’s any doubt that you’ll be accepted it might be best to look elsewhere.

The No Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card from Sainsbury’s has a representative APR of 18.9% and 0% interest on balance transfers for the first 28 months of opening the account. There is also no balance transfer fee on those made within the first three months, which then goes up to 3% thereafter.
