Good cards with no problems. Points credited on time each month. Cards very useful for abroad as no foreign exchange fee. We often use avios for Club Europe flights and if you are able to book well ahead and can be flexible, plenty of reward seats available. If you are a big spender and clear balance every month these cards are worth using.

For £24 a year, you get two cards to use and they are free to use abroad, which is great. It makes sense if you are travelling a lot. Also, you are collecting AVIOS points. Easy to manage on web-banking.

My normal every-day spending paid for business class flights to Stockholm and back for me and my wife. A pretty good reward for effectively doing nothing!

I signed up for this credit card as I needed the flexibility of having one, having not had one before. The Avios points appealed massively to me as I love to travel and by simply transferring my normal spend to the credit card, I have received enough points to pay for flights to Berlin for a Christmas trip. Signing up was simple and flexibility to increase or decrease the credit limit whenever I like is hugely beneficial.

Do not take out this credit card if you think you'll earn free flights etc with avios. I've found redeeming my avios points to be not very straightforward and the flight upgrade vouchers are basically useless (only certain flights, booked via avios...) lloyds themselves are fine. I've had no issues with it. Customer service also good on the one or two occasions I've called. Alerting them you are going abroad via the app is great (usually done whilst in the airport!)

Our review of Lloyds | Avios Rewards credit card

Consumer sentiment

With the Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card you’ll receive two cards, one from American Express and one MasterCard – but don’t think this means double the effort because monthly you’ll still pay one payment as it’s one account with one credit limit. The Avios you’ll earn also go into one pool. By having two cards it simply means that you can collect the rewards in more places.

The representative APR of the Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card is slightly more expensive than others on the market, but you do benefit from 0% on both balance transfers and purchases for the first 24 months. You’ll also need to pay an annual fee of £24 which isn’t uncommon for credit cards. Lloyds specify on their website that the Avios Rewards Credit Card would be a good option for customers who spend around £350 a month on their cards. The representative APR is 23.7% with an interest rate of 18.94%, though depending on circumstances, customers can be offered interest rates of 26.9% (variable) or 31.1% (variable).

Across the board the Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card has an average OPTIOSCORE. It’s a shame to see that reviews online paint a negative picture. Although there are none for the Avios Rewards credit card itself, we can take a look at the type of experience customers have had with Lloyds. With a TrustPilot rating of ‘bad’, customers appear to be dissatisfied with their online banking, have reported that they can be slow to answer the phone and that they’ve had problems with the fraud department.

Overall verdict: It’s disappointing that such a large bank has had negative reviews online, but these are only one side to the story. The representative APR might be a little high, but if you’re filled with wanderlust and love to travel then earning the rewards with the Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card could be for you.
